We are looking for a talented and strategic Creative Director who can drive our premium brand messaging, elevate our visual presentation, and position the brand as a leading name in sustainable fashion. This role is about telling our story—visually and verbally—in a way that resonates both in Europe and the U.S.

Role Overview

The Head of Creative Direction will focus on shaping the brand’s narrative, driving content strategy, and enhancing our premium visual identity. This role does not involve product design, collection planning, or merchandising. The focus is on how we communicate our values, build emotional connections with our audience, and visually present our premium brand across all channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brand Messaging: Develop and refine the brand’s key messages, ensuring they clearly convey our premium values of sustainability, comfort, surfing, skateboarding, and social responsibility. Craft compelling narratives that resonate with our audience and engage new consumers, particularly in the U.S. market.

  • Brand Presentation: Lead the premium visual and tonal identity of the brand ensuring consistent and high-quality presentation across all brand touchpoints. Oversee the development of brand assets, ensuring they embody the brand’s essence and appeal to both European and American audiences.

  • Content Creation: Drive the creation of engaging and visually appealing content for digital platforms, social media, campaigns, and other media. Maintain a unified premium brand voice and visual aesthetic that aligns with our target market.

  • Storytelling through Video & Photography: Utilize storytelling skills in video and photography to bring the brand’s premium narrative to life. Lead creative direction for photo and video shoots, ensuring visual consistency and emotional impact in all multimedia content.

  • Market Understanding: Utilize a strong understanding of the American market and culture to tailor messaging and visual strategies that resonate with U.S. consumers. Ensure global alignment while respecting regional nuances in communication.

  • Deep Connection to the Brand’s Lifestyle: Demonstrate a genuine affinity with the brand’s premium lifestyle, including a passion for surfing, skateboarding, and a commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. Translate this ethos into authentic and relatable content.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Creative Operations to execute creative strategies efficiently and effectively. Partner with the CMO to integrate premium brand storytelling into the broader marketing strategy, ensuring a seamless customer journey.

  • Brand Positioning: Strategically position the brand as a leader in sustainable and premium footwear, differentiating the brand from competitors through innovative campaigns and storytelling. Monitor market trends and consumer insights to adjust positioning as needed.

  • Leadership & Team Management: Inspire and lead a team of creatives, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Provide clear direction, feedback, and support to ensure high standards in creative execution.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in creative direction or similar role in fashion, lifestyle, or a related industry.

  • Strong expertise in premium brand messaging, content strategy, and visual presentation.

  • Demonstrated experience in storytelling through video and photography, with the ability to create emotionally compelling content.

  • Exceptional storytelling skills with a keen understanding of how to blend visuals and text for maximum impact.

  • Deep understanding of the American market and culture, with an ability to craft narratives that appeal to both U.S. and European audiences.

  • A profound connection with and understanding of the brand’s premium lifestyle, including surfing, skateboarding, sustainability, and social responsibility.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, capable of aligning multiple teams around a common creative vision.

  • Fluency in English is essential; additional European languages are a plus.

  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to maintaining premium brand authenticity.

  • Willingness to work from Portugal while operating within a global, fast-paced environment.

Salary range: €60.000 - €80.000 yearly.
